Book Bugs, Read Write Count and The First Minister’s Reading Challenge

After being awarded the top reading award in Scottish Schools through the The First Minister's Reading Challenge we are very excited to announce that we will continue to take part in a range of initiatives to promote a lifelong love for reading: Book Bugs, Read Write Count and The First Minister’s Reading Challenge.

All initiatives will be launched at Riverside in November and will continue to run throughout the school year. We have events planned throughout the session to recognise and celebrate the efforts of our pupils in working towards their own personal reading targets.

P1-3: Please look out for the monthly evaluation sheets to showcase your exciting learning at home.

P4-7: Please keep your Reading Passport updated for our submissions at the end of each month. We will be submitting our results at a national level in May.

For more information on each of these programmes please follow to link below to read our case study which was published by The Scottish Book Trust.
