Welcome from Mrs MacPhee, our Headteacher

P1 Transition Project - 'The Colour Monster goes to school'

Our transition project children joining us in August 2026 will be emailed to all nurseries.  As part of Riverside Primary’s transition, we have set up a small project for the children to do at the end of nursery and into the start of Primary 1.  It is based on the book ‘The Colour Monster goes to school'.  We want to find out all the things that the children love to do at nursery, at home and, after the summer, at school as they journey from nursery to P1.

Watch the story being read aloud below by Mrs Ferguson

A warm welcome from Primary 1

We look forward to welcoming your child to Primary 1.  Some of our current Primary 1's have put together a short video to share their thoughts about Riverside Primary and what it is like to be in Primary 1.  Please share this with your child.  We hope your child will enjoy watching the video and it will encourage your child to feel excited about their first days at school.
