Riverside Active Parent Partnership

Welcome to the Riverside Active Parent Partnership (RAPP). We are the Parent Council for Riverside Primary School. You can also find us on Facebook where we have a closed group. Make sure you’re the first to hear what’s going on by signing up to our page.

Who are we?
We’re here to support the smooth running of the school by ensuring good communication between parents/carers and school, raising any issues on behalf of parents/carers, raising funds to enhance our children’s educational experience, and holding events to build a sense of community.
What do we do?
We meet once a term (currently virtually) to discuss issues and make plans. Mrs MacPhee also attends our meetings. Our meetings are open to all and everyone is welcome! Here are the minutes from our latest meetings:
We also run events throughout the school year such as the Christmas Fayre and the Fun Run. We run the healthy tuck shop and organise the children’s discos. We are always looking for helping hands!
Where does the money you raise go?
The funds we raise support the school in lots of different ways. In the past, we have paid for the School Parent App, the children’s Sum Dog maths platform, and we have subsidised school trips amongst others.
As well as these types of activities, we are currently raising money to help fund extra bike racks for the school playground so that more children can cycle to school. This is a big project for which we are also approaching local businesses and applying for grants. If anyone has any contacts who could help us with this, please let us know!
How can I get involved?
There are lots of ways you can get involved! You can check out our Facebook page, come to our meetings, or help out with events or activities we have planned. Online fundraising
Because of COVID-19, RAPP’s usual fundraising activities have not been possible – so we are thinking outside the box! We have set up a number of ways you can support our school whilst going about your everyday lives:

We have signed up to Easy Fundraising. Over 4,000 shops and sites will donate to us (at no extra cost to yourselves) if you shop online through the easy fundraising website. Check it out!

Through the ‘Empties Please’ scheme, we can now collect and recycle ink cartridges and toners, and raise money for RAPP in the process. If you have any used ink cartridges or toners, please put them in the box outside the office. Check if your ink cartridges can be recycled.

When it comes to school uniform, you can buy your labels at My Nametags and 24% of the order will be donated to RAPP. Also great for labelling football kit, brownie uniforms etc. Use the link above – the school ID to link your order to our school is 27317.

They have labels and tags for everything, such as clothing, sports equipment, toys, accessories, household items and stationery, helping prevent items ending up in Lost and Found.
